A bit of "translation": "abstract" means this class may have abstract (~=pure virtual) methods. class A is a generic (~template) definition P extends ... is an extra constraint on generic parameter, should be subclass of ... P extends B means that the generic parameter#1 is a subclass of another generic class

I am not aware of any automatic screen buffering support in Swing. If you need double buffering, you need to implement it yourself in which case you will know better how to calculate memory requirements :-) See this answer: Java: how to do double-buffering in Swing? for more information and good pointers.

The problem with deleteOnExit() is that if your application crashes the files are left forever. I would run a thread to clean the temp directory (except for the open files) periodically.

Hi, my name is Sasha Ovsankin. I have created CodeBistro a while ago to work on new products and projects in the area of Internet, Mobile, Media and Collaboration.

The name CodeBistro reminds of several things:
- “Bistro” is “quick” in Russian (like wiki-wiki in hawaian ) and according to one version, the word was used by French restaurant owners to attract Russian soldiers stationed in Paris after the Napoleon’s defeat of 1815. The legend aside, the concept of fast and high quality at the same time is something I always admire and strive to achieve myself.
- A great restaurant, Bistro-M in San-Francisco where I was first exposed to the concept of Bistro.
We are lucky to have best customers in the world! What we like most about our customers is that they provide us with a constant stream of nonconventional problems that require creative solutions. And this is what we love about software development — there is always a challenge and if there isn’t, you must be doing something wrong.
